Iran shorts to go to Argentine filmfest

The 17the edition of the International Film Festival on Human Rights in Argentina has scheduled to screen two short films from Iran.

The festival will screen ‘One Moment’ directed by Naqi Nemati and 'Snowy Roofs' (Gharly Damlar) by Hayedeh Moradi at the main competition section.

Nemati’s ‘One Moment’ is about unexpected occurrences minutes before the death of some people.

‘Snowy Roofs’ focuses on migration and its resulting damages. “With the onset of cold weather in Ardebil, young people in rural regions begin to travel to tropical regions, particularly Tehran, for work, which marks the beginning of their migration and posing harmful effects on their lives,” the movie summery indicates.

Produced by Ardebil office of Iranian Youth Cinema Society, Moradi’s documentary has received the award for best short documentary at the 9th edition of Cinéma Vérité Festival in Tehran in December 2015.

The International Film Festival on Human Rights, organized by the multimedia institute of DerHumALC will be held in Buenos Aires and Santiago del Estero.

The festival presents long feature, short and medium length, narrative, documentary films, essay, animation, experimental or video clip for a variety of non-competitive sections, like Memory, Gender Views, Childhood and Youth, Migrants, Panorama, Environment and Native Cultures, and three competitive sections, International Long Films, Short and Medium Films Competition, Argentinean Documentary Competition.

The International Film Festival on Human Rights as one of the most important events on human rights cinema is founding member of the Human Rights Film Network and Red de Cine Social y Derechos Humanos de América Latina y el Caribe, promoting human rights issues in the world through cinema.

The 17th edition of the festival is slated to be held from May 31 to June 7, 2017.
